3rd time is the charm!  

Get ready for the third edition of Queer Little Lies on 25.11.-27.11.2022 – workshops, performances, readings, Boygroup battles, meeting new and old friends. All this in one weekend?!

We will start with the wonderful Sophie Labelle on Friday at the Escher Bibliothéik. (Registration via events.bibliotheque[@]villeesch.lu )

Saturday and Sunday, we will be at ILL’s homebase: Bâtiment4. We will start off Saturday with a Queer Yoga Session with Maura Explorer before engaging in this eventful day. Saturday will be fully in the sign of the Art of Drag Kinging: take part in the fabulous special She’s The Man* Boygroup Workshop by Stephanie Weber, then compete in the Lip Sync Boygroup battle during the Drag King Night with Lip Sync Battle, Performances + Karaoke. There will be performances by the Kingz of Pop and Victor LeMaure before we open the stage for all of you for some Karaoke fun.

Sunday will also start with some Gentle Flow with Maura Explorer before we go deconstruct some gender constructions in the Art of Flamenco with Fernando López Rodríguez -. Finally, Malou Estenne from Transtopies will be giving her “Born to be Queer” conference.

QUEER OPEN MIC – 30.07.2022

Queeizarres, licornes, personnes gingenres et magicien*nes du genre, après une longue pause (covid), xxyz ˥uxembourg revient avec sa 3ème soirée scène ouverte queer. Cette fois en collaboration avec le Queer Little Lies Festival 3 et le Centre LGBTIQ+ CIGALE.
RDV à 19h30 le samedi 30 juillet 2022 à la Piazza de F.U.T.U.R.E, à l’extérieur du Bâtiment 4 (66 Rue de Luxembourg, Esch/Alzette).

Toutes formes de performances sont les bienvenues : poèmes, drag, chansons, spoken word, instruments acoustiques, danse, rap, humour, lecture, théâtre, magie, etc. Viens partager tes joies, ta détresse, ta révolte, ta colère, ton humour.
Tu as la queeritude? Alors créons ensemble un espace queer-féministe bienveillant et radicool.

– Les performances sur scène sont réservées aux personnes LGBTIQA+ afin de leur permettre d’exprimer leur créativité dans un espace qui leur est dédié. Les ami·e·s et allié·e·s cis-hétéros peuvent se joindre à nous comme spectateur·ices. Pas d’inscription nécessaire pour le grand public.
– Dans un esprit de convivialité, apportez vos boissons préférées et des petits snacks à partager avec les autres.
– Le bâtiment et les toilettes sont accessibles aux personnes en fauteuil roulant (même électrique).

~ Opposing normative and stereotypical thinking

~Defying supposed evidences on gender, sexuality, desire and bodies

~ Queer/feminist because you can’t smash the cis-tem without smashing the patriarchy

~Subverting boundaries – also one’s own

This has been the spirit of Independent Little Lies’s Queer Little Lies festival since its first edition in 2018 and we still sail by that flag!

There is a LOT going on this year, but we will still find some time to disrupt the cis/hetero-normative system with some Queer Little Lies, so stay tuned!
