Die „ILL RESIDENZ 2017“ geht an Claire Thill für die Arbeit am Konzept und Text von Blackout. Die Regisseurin und Schauspielerin wird die Residenz nutzen um mit einigen Künstlern des Teams verschiedene Ideen und auch Textpassagen, zu erarbeiten und diese dann weiterzuentwickeln. Zwei Wochen arbeiten sie im Juli 2017 in den Annexen des Schloss Burglinster.

The Horror! The Horror!- investigations into a genre that keeps the finger on the pulse.
A few artists from different backgrounds will use the residency as a retreat to ponder on how to compose a good horror story in our current climate. The investigations around different themes and images from the horror film canon will lead to the first attempts at devising Blackout the latest piece by Independent Little Lies that opens at the Théâtre des Capucins in February 2018. The play aims to confront the audience with a dark, meteorological phantasmagoria that combines different elements from horror films and psychological thrillers. The idea of the horror genre as an invariable reflection of current events in our society plays an important part in the creative process and explorations around this piece.
